Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Zhongwen.id ("Zhongwen.id", "we", "us" or "our") regarding your use of our website at https://www.zhongwen.id and our mobile applications for iOS and Android ("Belajar Mandarin - Zhongwen.id"), together with all related features and content (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing, registering for, or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are a minor under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf.

You may create an account by registering with an email address and password, or by using optional Google sign-in (OAuth) or, on mobile, "Sign in with Apple". When you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current and complete account information and keep it up to date;
• Keep your login credentials confidential and not share them with anyone;
• Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account; and
• Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to access and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial language learning.

This licence does not transfer any ownership rights to you. You may not assign, sublicense, sell, rent, lease or otherwise transfer your rights under this licence, and we may revoke it at any time if you breach these Terms.

Zhongwen.id helps you learn Mandarin in two main ways: through karaoke-style synced song lyrics that show Hanzi, Pinyin, Indonesian and English for each line, and through HSK 1–9 flashcards with native-speaker audio, stroke-order animations and worked example sentences.

The Service is offered in a free tier and a paid Premium tier:

• Free tier: access to HSK levels 1–3 and a limited song library, including a short advertisement (approximately 10 seconds) shown before songs play.
• Premium tier: access to the full HSK 1–9 content, the full song library, all lyric lines, and removal of the short ad shown before songs.

We may add, modify, suspend or discontinue features of the Service, in whole or in part, at any time.

You agree to use the Service lawfully and only as permitted by these Terms. You must not:

• Scrape, bulk-download, copy, republish or redistribute lyrics, audio, translations or HSK content from the Service;
• Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code of any part of the Service;
• Share, resell, sublicense or otherwise transfer your account or Premium access to any other person;
• Attempt to bypass, disable or circumvent the free-tier limits, the advertisements, or any payment or access controls;
• Disrupt, overload, interfere with, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, its servers, or related systems; or
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that infringes the rights of others.

The Service itself — including the application, the "Zhongwen.id" brand, its design, our original translations and our compiled HSK material — is owned by Zhongwen.id or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Song lyrics, sound recordings and music videos belong to their respective rights holders. They are made available on the Service for personal study and educational reference only. Embedded videos are served by YouTube and are subject to YouTube's Terms of Service.

You must not redistribute, republish, or commercially exploit any content available through the Service. All rights not expressly granted to you in these Terms are reserved by Zhongwen.id and the relevant rights holders.

We take reasonable measures to protect your account: passwords are stored in hashed form (bcrypt) and never in plaintext, sessions on the web use a secure httpOnly cookie of which only a hashed token is stored on our servers, and the mobile apps store session tokens in the device's secure keychain.

You remain responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You should choose a strong password, avoid reusing it across other services, log out of shared devices, and keep your verified email address current so that you can recover access. You are responsible for all use of the Service under your account, except to the extent caused by our failure to meet our own obligations.

Premium is available as a one-time Lifetime purchase of Rp 99,000 or a Monthly subscription of Rp 19,000. Applicable prices, currencies and taxes are shown to you before you complete a purchase.

Payments are processed depending on the platform you use:

• Web: through Duitku, an Indonesian payment gateway (for example QRIS or bank transfer);
• iOS: through Apple In-App Purchase, validated server-side with Apple;
• Android (Play Store build): through Google Play Billing, validated server-side.

We do not store full card or bank-account numbers; those details are handled by the relevant payment provider. We may change prices from time to time, with such changes applying prospectively to future purchases or renewals.

Purchases made on the web through Duitku are generally non-refundable, except where Indonesian consumer law requires otherwise.

Refunds for in-app purchases made through Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, and their store terms apply to those purchases. If you seek a refund for an in-app purchase, you should contact the relevant store provider.

The Service relies on and integrates with third-party services, including Google (Sign-In and Google Play Billing), Apple (Sign in with Apple and App Store In-App Purchase), Duitku (web payments), and YouTube (embedded video player). When you play a song video, YouTube and Google may receive your IP address and set their own cookies, governed by Google's privacy policy.

These third-party services are subject to their own terms and privacy policies, over which we have no control. We are not responsible for the content, practices, or availability of any third-party service, and your use of them is at your own risk.

The Service is an educational tool provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that using the Service will result in fluency or any specific learning outcome.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind regarding the Service. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that lyrics and translations are accurate, complete or free of errors. Your use of the Service is at your own discretion and risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Zhongwen.id will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the total amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Zhongwen.id and its operators and licensors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or related to your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your infringement of the rights of any third party.

We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Service, in whole or in part, if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that may cause harm to us, other users, or third parties.

You may stop using the Service at any time and request deletion of your account by emailing us at zhongwenindonesia@gmail.com. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including those on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification and governing law — will continue to apply.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

In the event of any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, the parties will first seek to resolve the matter amicably through good-faith discussion. If the dispute cannot be resolved amicably, it will be resolved under the applicable laws of the Republic of Indonesia.

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Service or to legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date shown above. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
